What are Bushwacker Fender Flares
made of?
Bushwacker Fender Flares are made of Dura-Flex®
ABS plastic, an exclusive product of Bushwacker.
It is the basic material that our flares are
produced from. Simply stated, it is a high impact,
low temperature thermoplastic which bends, is
flexible and yet its rigid nature retains its
shape.
You don't make a flare for my vehicle. Can I
stretch a fender flare to fit a vehicle that
you don’t support?
You cannot stretch or shape a fender flare to
fit a vehicle its not designed for. Our flares
are made to be vehicle and year specific. Unlike
other flares on the market, our flares have
been created to meet every curve in the sheet
metal of the vehicle it was designed for.
How difficult is it to install Bushwacker Fender
Flares?
Bushwacker fender flares are easy to install.
We supply the correct hardware and easy-to-follow
instructions. Our flares are designed to use
factory holes if available. If factory holes
are not available, some of our newer flares
install with self-tapping screws. Our Fender
Flares mount directly to the sheet metal for
a strong and secure fit.
Will Bushwacker Fender Flares fit if my vehicle
has body side moldings?
If your vehicle has body side molding, we suggest
that you cut the molding where it intersects
with the flares or trim the fender flare around
the molding. To insure proper fit with no gapping,
we recommend cutting the molding.
Will Bushwacker Fender Flares fit if my vehicle
has running boards?
In most cases Bushwacker Fender Flares will
fit your vehicle if it has running boards, providing
your running boards attach to the wheel well
opening with a flat plate.
How do Bushwacker Fender Flares mount?
Each Bushwacker Fender Flare application mounts
differently than other applications. For specific
mounting details of a specific application,
download the installation sheet provided on
that application’s fender flare product
page.
Why do Bushwacker Fender Flares for my Dodge
cover part of the front doors? It doesn’t
look like I can open it.
The Dodge door opens inward at an angle; the
flare will not interfere with the closing and
opening of the doors.
I have a brand emblem on the sheet metal near
my front wheel well. Are your flares notched
to fit around the emblem?
Bushwacker Fender Flares are not notched to
fit around brand emblems. The emblems can be
lifted and moved to just above where the flare
will sit easily by heating the adhesive they
are attached by with a hair dryer. Be careful
to not scorch the paint by overheating it.
How can I tell if my Toyota has an import or
domestic bed?
Import Bed: the lip of the bed will roll out
to the outside of the vehicle (some will also
have external tie downs).
Domestic Bed: the lip of the bed will roll into
the inside of the bed.
An inset image is available describing
import or domestic beds on supported Toyota
imported or domestic bed fender flare application
pages.
I have a vehicle that is a sister vehicle of
an application you support, such as the Mazda
B-Series Truck/ Ford Ranger or the Mercury Mountaineer
/ Ford Explorer. Will Bushwacker Fender Flares
fit these sister vehicles?
There are many parts on these vehicles that
are interchangeable. Unfortunately, the quarter
panel sheet metal pieces are different enough
to make our flares fit incorrectly on these
vehicles. If a sister vehicle is supported,
you will see it on our website as a supported
application.
Do I have to cut sheet metal to install Cut-Out
flares?
All Bushwacker Cut-Out Fender Flares except
some Toyota Cut-Out applications require sheet
metal removal for installation. Our installation
instructions simplify the process, it is best
to read the application’s installation
instructions before purchasing.
Can you paint Bushwacker Fender Flares, BedRail
& TailGate Caps or TrailArmor?
Bushwacker Products come in OEM-style black
but can be easily painted to any color you want!
If you want to paint the product yourself, we
suggest that you clean the product with a high
grade degreaser, wipe with a tack rag and then
spray with lacquer, enamel or polyurethane base
automotive paint. Clear coating is optional,
but recommended after painting.
Do I have to use the edge trim? Is it paintable?
We recommend using edge trim, as it helps the
flare fit snugly up against the vehicle body
and minimizes gapping.
We do not recommend painting the
edge trim.
