Austin-Harley Inc. produces
Alpine stainless steel nerf bars for the automotive
aftermarket industry. At our factory in North
Central Indiana we engineer and manufacture
all of our tubing and hardware fabrications.
Please take a tour of our manufacturing page
to see how it all takes place. We are proud
to be one of the few remaining American manufactures
of our product and want to assure all of the
customers that there is still value in buying
American.
What makes us unique is that
we remain one of the few U.S. manufacturers
of step bars. We begin in engineering, starting
with obtaining a vehicle from a local dealer
or an upfitter meeting. Our R&D department
designs the step bar and installation bracket
system with the help of AutoCAD. Once the designs
are done our laser or turret punch is programmed
to cut our bracket out of primary steel. The
press brakes are the next step bending the steel
into the predetermined shape. At this point
the brackets will be fixtured and the robot
programmed to weld the seams of the brackets.
The vehicle will once again be brought into
R&D for final fit, approved and production
will begin
